There are many different ways to get fit and even more ways of staying fit. What is it that you want your body to do better? Do you want to take some weight off (and keep it off!), run a marathon, or get that beach body you’ve always desired? Here are some of the different ways we can help achieve your fitness goals.

Increase your range of motion

Flexibility of the bodies muscles and joints plays an integral part in many athletic movements. It improves your range of motion, prevents injury and aids recovery after strength training.

Improve muscle density

Strength training is so important to give your body what it needs to fight the loss of muscle, bone mass and strength that comes naturally with age. The unique programs I’ve developed involving strength training will help increase your strength, protect your joints, burn calories, boost your metabolism, and improve your overall health physically and mentally. A combination of strategic exercises as well as a healthy diet will have you in tip-top-shape in no time.

Feel Good, Look Good, Have fun

Tired of sitting all day in the office? Do your body a favour and get your blood pumping. Health and fitness is as much about what your body looks like on the outside as it is about how it functions on the inside. Your heart is a muscle, too, and my Group Fitness workouts will get your heart-rate up. Your body will thank you for it!

What you put in you get out

Getting your food choices and nutrition on point are a massive part of gaining and sustaining results that last. One of our main aims in our career has been to change the stigma around 'healthy food' and it being hard, unenjoyable, boring and/or expensive. With correct guidance you can eat well and still enjoy a normal well balanced lifestyle.

Whatever your goals, we are here to bring you results. Contact us for more details.

I've run on and off for many years and have always planned to incorporate strength and core training - but never really managed it. I went to Georgia at West London Fitness on the recommendation of a friend and have now been training for 1-2 sessions per week over the past six months. Honestly, I feel fitter, more toned and stronger than ever - I'm 42. Without exception, I feel fantastic after each session - those early morning slots may be hard going but they are invigorating and set you up brilliantly for the day. Georgia always works you more or less to your limit - no such thing as an easy session - but there is lots of variety and a very definite focus on technique and form.  Georgia has a holistic approach and it's really helpful and motivating to have her (realistic) advice on nutrition and lifestyle.  She's also a lovely person! If you're looking for a personal trainer, I'd recommend Georgia without hesitation.

"I have been training with Georgia for the last 10 months. During that time she's given me a strong understanding of how to do exercises properly and I have definitely strengthen my core: I can see the difference!

Georgia is professional, trustworthy, competent and knowledgeable. She always gives good advise and pushes your boundaries, which is what you want. I can only recommend her."

I have always struggled to go to the gym in the past due to not knowing what to do, lack of motivation or plain boredom. I have managed to keep up Pilates sessions for 3 years since having major abdominal surgery but I wanted to feel and be stronger which is why I decided to get a personal trainer.

I came across West London Fitness and have been working with Georgia Mahony for the past 4 months. Georgia is very knowledgeable on various different types of exercises involving weights and cardio methods that I didn’t know existed. The sessions have been extremely enjoyable and almost easier to do with her motivating me along the way. The gym is small and well managed and does have more than enough equipment to provide all the necessary training. The atmosphere is less intimidating and friendlier than the larger less personable corporate gyms.

I’m surprised about how good I feel immediately after a session, I’m always in a great mood and over the past few months I have noticed my body toning up significantly. Georgia is great fun to be around and always mixes up the sessions and tailor makes them for my needs and the hour with her flies by. The personal training and Pilates complements each other well, I am stronger in both sessions and am able to do the more trickier poses and exercises which gives a great confidence boost.

Initially I took on sessions to provide me with some knowledge to take away to train by myself but having Georgia providing me with the support and advice, I am hooked and will continue to use West London Fitness going forward. Highly recommended!

Gradually I started to make my excuses more and more of why I couldn’t make that party or that family gathering where I hadn’t seen someone for a while or the reunion of old work colleagues. Knowing deep down inside that if it wasn’t said, it was thought… "You have put it on mate". Secretly and mentally I was torturing my self confidence of not being happy in the body that I was in and so desperately worried of how i started to look.

There were tail tail signs, times when, I thought I needed to do something about my size, shopping and going for that XXL hanger, and it not being just an XL anymore,  sitting beside a pool in shorts and a t shirt, and be sweating from being hot, but being too embarrassed to take more clothes off, and never going in for a dip to cool off, watching everyone else having fun, but sitting by, making those excuses of feeling unwell.

Even though I had several times of low moments of thought over my weight, I wouldn’t ever discuss it, i would just turn to food to comfort myself. layering my clothes to cover the curves, lumps & bumps, hiding myself from myself.

Everyone has a moment of realisation, and mine was as simple as seeing my weight on a set of bathroom scales, which I had not done in years, it was enough to make that call to Georgia Mahony. (Mahony Motion).

16 stone was a weight i carried, but the weight of lack of confidence was so much more.

I signed up for a 8 week 2 a week Personal Training session. Georgia was incredible, from understanding that I wanted to train under the cover of darkness, where no one could see me, to working with my limitations of movement.

To start, my relationship with food was not a good one, I started food diaries and had nutrition & protein direction, with guidance and gentle nudges towards the better choice over my old choice, having explained cravings and spikes, gave me the education so I understood how it had its effect on my body and how my relationship with food had to change.

The out of session support was also there, with little pointers and motivational texts of my personal best times on my runs. Georgia’s training style is a perfect balance of discipline, understanding, support and competitiveness.

It was a fairly short space of time when I started to feel different, but only I would notice it. as I still covered up, so I continued with a one a week session. Then week 12 came and I went shopping, that moment when I thought I would try that shirt on in the window and the only size left was a medium, to my absolute amazment it fitted. It felt great and with my confidence, self esteem and smile growing every day since, I am so much happier. I know it was down to my determination to do it, but without Georgia I really wouldn’t of achieved it.

Now 5 months on and losing a little over 3 and a half stone, going from 16 stone to 12.5 stone, losing a total of 23 kilos or 51 pounds. Viscal Fat from 35 to 16, Running a 30 minute 5k run to a 21.30 sec 5k run, all these measurements of my goals and achievements set which I am so happy and proud of which I have Georgia to eternally thank for, but, nothing can beat that feeling I have every morning, when I get dressed and see myself in the mirror and see my smile. Thank you Georgia Mahony, you are the success of my happiness.

A tip to start your day....
Warm lemon water in the morning helps kickstart the digestion process for the day, flushes out unwanted materials and toxins from the body and is a great energy booster first thing as our tissues are dehydrated. What better way to start than with an alkalising, body cleanse!

What type of an exercise person are you? Morning, lunch or evening? Once you know this then you can plan when you exercise and make sure its at YOUR BEST time of day! Things will always come up, life will always happen. You have to blend workouts into your days and make them a priority. I love to exercise in the morning as it gives me so much energy for my day. However if you are not a morning person don't try and be one unless it works for you. If you are already finding it difficult to motivate yourself to exercise more then don't make it harder by aiming at doing it at the wrong time of day for you. Trial and error and then once you know you could try one of the following to keep you going...
1)Join a class or work out with a friend who’ll hold you accountable.
2)Track your progress, if you respond well to challenges, set a target which encourages you to keep at it while you get into it.
3)If you’re able, hire a personal trainer. (Paying an expert is good motivation!)

The word DIET. Has a bad reputation. By definition it simply means the kinds of food that a person, animal, or community habitually eats.
Some little adaptions you can make are...
1) Don’t just stick to 1 food group. (Atkins etc)
2) Always read the label. (If something has sugar as the 2nd or 3rd ingredient then it’s most likely full of rubbish and look out for clever marketing…Just because something says ‘low fat’ it’s usually high in sugar!
Watch your sugar intake over all. Sugar not only messes with your weight loss or maintenance goals but it is very poisonous to the body and lowers the immune system.
3) Depending on your finances either make some time to prepare food to bring in with you in to work or use a healthy provider.
It doesn’t have to be expensive, It doesn’t have to be boring,
You just need to be smart and organised.
4) Avoid fast foods or high sugar content. Instead think lean meats, whole grains, legumes (beans, pulses), good fats (oily fish)
5) Don’t over eat (buy a medium tuppaware for food) and snack on protein rather than carbs.
